Change Accountancy & Finance is delighted to be partnering with a long-term client as they look to recruit a Finance Assistant into their organisation. This is a unique opportunity offering a client-facing role, positioned in the heart of Edinburgh, where you will act as a key point of contact for customers—using your financial knowledge and systems experience to support and resolve a range of queries.

Role Overview

This is a highly client-facing position, combining your finance knowledge—whether gained through a degree or hands-on experience—with customer interaction to help solve real-world problems. Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for customers
  • Supporting clients via phone, email, and live chat
  • Provide guidance on accounting processes, leveraging your financial knowledge
  • Assist with the onboarding of new clients
  • Deliver bespoke training sessions to new and existing users
  • Test new system features and contribute feedback to support continuous improvement

Candidate Profile

We are keen to speak with individuals who have a background in finance. This may include:

  • Graduates with an Accountancy & Finance degree
  • Individuals with experience in a Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant role

Strong communication skills are essential, as this role is significantly more client-facing than traditional finance positions.

Key Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a finance-related role (or relevant academic background)
  • Good understanding of month-end processes
  • Experience using accounting systems (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or similar)
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
