Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in 2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit and an approved plan to build a brand new, state of the art Emergency Department which commenced in 2021

Using the Trust’s care values, you will focus on delivering the best care to our patients through education and development of our future and current workforce. The majority of this role would be clinical, providing support and mentorship to staff, assisting supervisors and assessors and being highly visible to all.The primary focus of the role is to support the transition of our newly registered nurses, with the added focus on skills acquisition, clinical competence and quality improvement within the Emergency Department. Experience of developing and delivering training packages in a clinical setting would be advantageous.
Passion to develop and support others is essential combined with the ability to build relationships rapidly.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The applicant will work closely with the Band 7 Practice Development Nurse, Matron and Nurse Quality Lead within ED to deliver the new Education Framework, demonstrating their experience and understanding of Emergency Care throughout. They will be accountable to the ED Professional Development Nurse and will work to assure the delivery and compliance of staff across the nursing workforce.
The new role will also be essential to support the delivery of the orientation, induction and mentorship of new members of the nursing workforce as the team continues to expand.
We encourage involvement and innovation to ways of working throughout the service and aim to recruit someone in this role that will be an advocate for the Nursing Team to deliver safe, effective, responsive care through a well-led service.
As an Emergency Department, we are committed to provide high quality care within a demanding service by ensuring our nursing team are proactive and have additional clinical skills to provide individualised patient care for the whole range of presenting conditions.
You must demonstrate excellent communicate skills, initiative, drive and have the ability to lead a Nurse Team in a busy Department.
