Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 support to pupils with complex needs and assist pupils to understand instructions.
- Assist in implementing individual learning.
- Support children during social activities and outings.
- Encourage communication and look after their physical/personal needs.
- Work with the teacher and SEN team to create a positive learning environment.
- Prepare and provide learning materials.
Requirements of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Be patient and understanding.
- Be adaptable in any give situation.
- Develop strong and positive relationships with children.
- Committed to working as part of a team.
