We are currently recruiting for a Patient Transport Service (PTS) Ambulance Care Assistant, zero hour position, who shares a value and belief in delivering the highest standards of quality service and patient care.- Training Courses are full time at different locations within Yorkshire, Mon- Fri for 4 weeks, full attendance is required
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the care and safe transportation of non-emergency PTS patients.
Ensuring timely transportation to and from appointments at hospitals, treatment centres, day units or other places of care.
At all times the post holder must ensure patient safety and reduction in harm to patients, self, colleagues, and others by assessing risks and adopting safe working practices.

Notes regarding qualifications required for this post:For the purpose of this job, equivalent experience would be defined as having worked for a minimum of 2 years in a Band 2 PTS Driver post.
Person specification
Qualifications / Knowledge
Essential criteria- Level 2 entry requirement e.g. 3 GCSEs grade A*-C or NVQ level 2 qualification or equivalent experience
- Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development
Skills / Competencies
Essential criteria- Ability to carry out manual handling including the lifting of patients and equipment
- Basic IT skills e.g. word, e-mail
Personal/Other
Essential criteria- Full driving license with no more than three penalty points for new entrants to YAS or a maximum of six for existing YAS employees
- Able to work as part of a team
Experience
Essential criteria- Background in a customer or patient orientated field
