Essential critical Care experience to Cover Maternity leave. Fixed Term Contract 1 year

Critical care at Wirral Hospital is seeking registered nurses who are looking for the chance to deliver a truly holistic caring experience for their patients.

This opportunity will allow you the chance to care for 18 critically ill patients from all medical and surgical specialities . Once you have developed your skills you can have the opportunity to work with the rehabilitation, follow - up and outreach teams.

We are looking for Staff Nurses with a minimum of 1 year Acute ward experience.

Main duties of the job
  • Act as Critical care nurse following completion and assessment of critical care training.
  • Act as preceptor and supervisor to junior colleagues and unqualified support staff.
  • Carries out specialised nursing duties following completion of supplemented training
  • Participates in the rotation of all areas of critical care, as service needs require.
  • Acts as a specialist core team member working a high proportion of shifts out of hours.

  • First level Registration NMC
  • Previous acute ward nursing experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Mentorship/ teaching and assessing course or equivalent

  • Be aware of national, local and professional protocols, standards and guidelines
  • Ability to handle conflict

The amount would vary depending on the level required: Standard Disclosure £21.50+£6.50 or Enhanced Disclosure £49.50+£6.50 (please be aware the additional sum is an administration fee and may increase due to inflation).

This will be deducted from your salary, in manageable monthly instalments for up to 3 months following commencement of employment.
