Number of staff responsible for: 3 6 on each shift To carry out clinical practice within designated clinical areas, ensuring that high quality evidence-based nursing assessment, care planning, interventions and evaluations for children and young people is provided.
To ensure delivery of high quality residential service for disabled children detailed: National Minimum Care Standards of Childrens Homes. This will include: Undertaking a comprehensive, children/person-centred, nursing assessment and prepare care plans in consultation with the children/young people, their parents/carers and supporting professionals, to provide the best nursing care Implementation of care plan and advocating for the children/young people.
Evaluation of effectiveness of care plan provided in partnership with children and young people parents and carers and support professionals. Ability to implement research-based practice Following successful completion of preceptorship, ability to supervise junior and unregistered staff Ability to administer medicine within relevant Trust and legislative guidance e.g. NMC Standards for Medicines Management 2010 and the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
Ability to undertake risk assessment and develop risk management strategies for individual children and young people who present with challenging behaviour. Demonstrate a working knowledge of the key elements of relevant Legislation for Disabled Children in Residential Services.
