Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Maternity Cover) - Liverpool & Sefton
Starting Salary: £22,547 (Pro-Rated) | Term-Time Role | 6-Month Contract

We are seeking an experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our dedicated therapy team. This role involves delivering speech and language therapy services across multiple mainstream schools in Liverpool and Sefton, working closely with pupils, staff, and families to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), Autism, ADHD, and complex SEND.- Manage a clinical caseload, working collaboratively with teachers, class teams, and the wider multi-disciplinary team.
- Support students' communication skills in classroom settings, delivering direct and indirect interventions in individual and small-group formats.
- Conduct assessments, monitor progress, and maintain accurate records of pupils' speech, language, and communication development.
- Provide specialist advice and guidance to parents, carers, and families, ensuring continuity of support outside of school.
- Offer clinical supervision to junior Speech and Language Therapy colleagues, Therapy Assistants, and volunteers.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of training for school staff, promoting best practices in communication support.
- Assist in evaluating and monitoring pupil progress, preparing assessment reports and tailored intervention plans.
- A Degree in Speech and Language Therapy, with current registration with RCSLT and HCPC.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment, delivering therapy interventions at universal, targeted, and specialist levels.
- Previous experience within educational or clinical settings, supporting children and young people with complex needs, Autism, and ADHD.
- Strong case management skills, with the ability to modify therapy programmes to meet individual needs.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work-related travel.
