Project Coordinator - Youth Guarantee - Yate
How you'll make a difference:
As a Project Coordinator, you will coordinate and deliver key projects that enhance learning and employment opportunities for young people and adults including those facing barriers or disadvantage.
Working within the Youth Guarantee Programme, you will support vulnerable young people to develop their skills and access training and employment opportunities, whilst promoting career aspirations among adults and young people.
What you will be doing:
- Day-to-day, you will coordinate and deliver the Youth Guarantee Programme, focussed on supporting young people aged 18 to 21 who are currently not in education, employment or training.
- You will recruit, triage, monitor and track outcomes for cohorts of young people who will be working with our employability and skills mentors and engaging in extended work placements to develop skills or access further education.
- It will be your responsibility to promote career aspiration amongst young people using the service.
- Regularly, you will work with other team members and stakeholders such as, economic development officers, partner organisations, community groups, schools and consultants that work with not in education, employment or training (NEET) young people to ensure effective communication and coordination of this project.
What we need from you:
- We require you to be working towards or hold a degree or professional/technical equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as youth work or mentoring.
- You will have the ability to analyse, prioritise and organise your workload to meet deadlines and have experience of implementing and monitoring projects.
- It is essential that you have experience of establishing good working relationships with project managers and partners including youth focused organisations, community groups, employers, and small businesses.
- You need to have strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience of communicating with stakeholders, including vulnerable groups to build networks and work towards shared outcomes.
- This is a limited term contract, ending 31st March 2026.
- This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Yate, in the community and working from home.
- Please note that due to the nature of this role, it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained.
- You will be expected to travel throughout the authority and surrounding area so you must have a full, valid driving licence with regular access to a vehicle or have an alternative means of travel.
- We are also offering this as an internal secondment opportunity, you should first seek your line managers permission before applying.
