Location: Glasgow – with travel across Scotland & Southern networks
Salary: £60k - £80k per annum, PAYE basis (dependent on experience)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm
Review and present strategic papers including contract award recommendations
Provide reasoned advice and support to wider Procurement team
Liaise with wide range of senior stakeholders including directors from operations, legal and finance
Contribute to reporting on commercial performance for business directors and stakeholders
Experience of leading and developing a team of Procurement and Commercial specialists
Desired experience of working on construction projects including utility infrastructure and property projects
Understand and drive commercial processes and procedures to ensure robust commercial management
Understand varying contract risk profiles and incorporate relevant mitigation measure

Job Description
Our client is looking for a Lead Contracts Manager to work with their Procurement team for approx. 6 months. The role is predominantly based in Glasgow however, the successful candidate will be required to travel across Scotland and to the Southern networks to meet on-going stakeholder and contractor demands.
The daily duties will be as follows:
Manage contract administration across varying forms of contract, including NEC4 or bespoke arrangements across goods, works and services (change management, payment, termination, sub-contractors, contract execution)Review and present strategic papers including contract award recommendations
Provide reasoned advice and support to wider Procurement team
Liaise with wide range of senior stakeholders including directors from operations, legal and finance
Contribute to reporting on commercial performance for business directors and stakeholders
Lead resolution of contentious issues / disputes and coordinate support from wider SGN team including legal and finance
The successful candidate will have the following:
Background in Quantity Surveying or Supply Chain Management requiredExperience of leading and developing a team of Procurement and Commercial specialists
Desired experience of working on construction projects including utility infrastructure and property projects
Understand and drive commercial processes and procedures to ensure robust commercial management
Understand varying contract risk profiles and incorporate relevant mitigation measure
Full UK driving license & willingness to travel
