Permanent carer/nanny for child with additional needs
Looking for an experienced carer/nanny, with a degree of flexibility in working hours. Job share (maximum between two people) will be considered for suitable applicants. This is a permanent position, for a self-employed individual/s. OFSTED registration not essential but desirable.
SEN experience and/or training is a must, as is being able to provide consistent and reliable care, to a person who is sensitive to changes. An understanding of assessing risk, keeping calm in difficult situations and using adapted communication strategies are desirable.
The ideal candidate will concentrate on providing 1:1 support and supervision to my 14 year old, who has additional needs. Duties will include: planning and carrying out suitable fun activities in and out of the home, assistance with personal care, light meal preparation and housework related to care needs, and on occasion, accompanying the family to outings or transporting to/from activities.Owning a car is essential and mileage to external events/activities is covered in addition to usual rate.
Approximately 20-25 hours weekly care during term time (after school, variable hours and Saturdays or Sundays), and 25-30 hours weekly during school holidays (Monday-Friday and Saturdays or Sundays). Occasionally overnight care may be required, if possible.Hours/days are flexible to a degree and subject to negotiation. £15-18 per hour, dependant on experience and qualifications.
