An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamicOccupational Therapist with a passion for community rehabilitation,supporting people in their own homes with frailty, neurological conditions,dementiaand many otherlong-termconditions at all stages of their rehab journey including hospital discharge and continuing healthcare assessments.
The Community Therapy Team South Cumbria is seeking to appoint a Band 7 clinical lead Occupational Therapist to work as part of our new integrated therapy service.
You will bring yourexpertiseas a senior OT to promote functional rehabfor patientsandprovide clinical leadership totheoccupationaltherapyteam.
The therapy team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, assistantPractitionersand therapy assistants.
You will be working closely with other professionals in the team, including thephysiotherapyclinical lead, andwillacquireholistic assessment skills to support your core Occupational Therapy knowledge, while treating patients in their own environment.
The service at covers Monday to Friday, 8am-6:30pm and Saturday/Sunday 9am-5pm .
The successful candidates base would be agreed on appointment but the post is required to support both South Lakes and Furness area.

To work independently as an autonomous practitioner within the specified advanced clinical area(s) to be responsible for managing a caseload of patients with complex conditions appropriate to advanced knowledge and skill level and experience: providing flexible and patient centred programmes of Occupational Therapy (OT) interventions.
To lead in the specified clinical area(s) with advancedknowledge, skills and experience to advise and support staff on
managing complex clinical issues for the within the Community
Therapy Team.
Contribute to service improvement and development in thespecified clinical area(s) in response to evidence base practice
and national clinical guidelines.
Provide leadership for staff and students working in theCommunity Therapy Team through team leadership, supervision, appraisal and development process, performance
management and preceptorship.
Lead clinical audits, undertakes designated research andprojects.
To lead on implementing service improvement anddevelopments for the service.
We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
