What you'll be doing
To have overall accountability for successful project delivery, including; initiation, planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover/close out for all major and minor structures repair and construction works, such as bridges, retaining walls, culverts etc.
- Hold periodic project reviews (PRM) and update the Digital Briefcase in accordance with GBL.
- Ensure the team maintain accurate project records.
- Prepare both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders.
- Initiates good scope/information/configuration management principles.
- Ensure reports provide relevant information.
- Ensure scope and package assignment supports the team in coordinated working.
- Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm and keep up to date with changes in legislation.
- Carry out periodic safety and Environmental Tours/Promote observation and safety initiatives.
- Develop, implement and update resource allocations plans (OBS) and raise appropriate requests.
- Develop high performing teams, promote pipeline of talent to assist with internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating and empowering the team.
- Formal qualification (BSc/MSc in management/construction.
- CSCS and SMSTS or equivalent.
- Able to demonstrate a track record of project delivering structures, culvorts.
- Good understanding of the standard forms of contracts.
- Proficient in commercial/project management communications.
- Experience in implementing safe systems of work.
- Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all levels of the organisation.
- Commercially astute.
- Able to undertake work in high pressure situations.
- Good knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics.
- Record of a solution-based approach to problem solving.
- Ability to see the business vision and inspire this shared vision amongst the team.
