Job Description- Leading and managing a design team to produce innovative womenswear designs.
- Creating and developing original design ideas, concepts, embroideries, fabrications and seasonal themes
- Sourcing of relevant fabrics to meet the design requirements
- Print, graphics, and CAD work.
- Developing original themes for seasonal collections
- Creating specs/tech packs for overseas factories
- Extra responsibility for own account
- Ensuring critical path is adhered to, and keep on top of all key dates
- Liaising with factories and overseas offices
- Creating relationships with buyers
- Inspiration and sourcing trips abroad
- Trend packs /colour inspiration
- Managing expenses and returns
The Successful Applicant
A successful Senior Designer should have a portfolio to demonstrate their in-depth knowledge of the fast-fashion industry and its trends. As a designer, you'll have to collaborate with marketing and forecasting teams to create casual apparel collections.You'll have the option to specialise in a range of areas including womenswear and other categories on occasion.
- +4 years minimum background in Fashion Design
- Educated with a minimum 2.1 degree in Fashion or other related subject or equivalent practical attainment
- A good understanding of Illustrator and or Photoshop
- Experience working within a HIGH-STREET fashion brand or a SUPPLIER
- Creative, commercial, and trend-driven with a good eye for colour and fabric
- Attentive to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Team player and able to build relationships
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- To be able to deal with all challenges in a calm and positive manner
- Strong knowledge of design principles and trends in the fast-fashion industry.
- Proficiency in design software and tools.
- A creative mindset with the ability to solve complex design problems.
- A competitive salary of between £40,000 and £50,000 per year.
