Job overview

The hospital receptionist role will provide an efficient, effective and high quality administration reception support to health and social care professionals, service users and members of the public.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing team. You will provide vital support to our clinical teams whilst maintaining front line contact with our patients and service users.

There is one part-time role at 18.5 hours with the scope of overtime across two receptions both based at Lynfield Mount Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Are you an administrator looking for a new role within a fast paced and multi-disciplined team?

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated receptionist to join our dynamic admin team working at Lynfield Mount Hospital.

The successful applicant will support the hospital reception team dealing with enquiries from patients, service users, families, and clinical staff. This role will involve taking responsibility for the service reception, whilst providing vital support to a variety of teams.

Applicants should be courteous, proactive and not afraid of a fast passed working environment.

The role would be ideal for those with experience of patient and service user contact, an excellent telephone manner and a strong administration focus. Comprehensive training will be provided to the right person.

Shift pattern will include working shifts. These will be morning and evening shifts, between 6:30 - 10pm including Saturdays and Sundays,

Example of shift pattern:
  • 3pm
  • 10pm Thursday and Friday.
6:30am
  • 10am & 6:30pm
  • 9:30pm Saturday and Sundays.

These hours are dependent on service needs.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Level 2 qualification in relevant field or equivalent level of Experience. (e.g GSCE A-C - or NVQ Level 2)
  • Educated to an appropriate standard of English to undertake the job role
Desirable criteria
  • ECDL or equivalent
  • Numeracy Skills

Experience

  • Data inputting
  • Experience of general office duties
  • Experience of call handling / switchboard
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience of dealing with complex issues

  • Experience of working in a bust administrative role
