Job Overview
To educate and support a dynamic local neonatal unit environment by facilitating/supporting development of QIS/Leadership trainees through education and training pathways. The post holder will actively attend Network, Trust and divisional meetings to improve training and educational needs, helping to lead professional practice standards, and providing best care for everyone utilising the best available evidence-based practice.
You will work as Clinical Nurse Educator (0.7 WTE) in collaboration with the matron. consultants, and ward managers of neonatal unit to lead and ensure the effective delivery of educational strategies to ensure safety, quality improvement and clinical governance activities in neonatal unit including combined maternity-neonatal training.
To provide strategic leadership for the training and education of nursing staff across all Bands, with a primary focus on Quality In Specialty (QIS) training and Band 6 leadership development through practice-based teaching, in alignment with the Neonatal and Maternity Workforce Transformation Plan, including joint maternity-neonatal educational initiatives
You will participate in all neonatal operational activities as an effective team leader (0.3 WTE) supporting the Matron and ward managers for Neonatal Unit, and maintain clinical skills by taking responsibilities for coordinating, managing, and supporting a team of staff within a shift.Ensuring visibility within the clinical area, role modelling high standards of care, evidenced based practice and effective leadership.

Respond to emergency situations with composure, maintaining patient safety and seeking
assistance as needed, supporting the patient, family and other staff as required.
Always maintain patient dignity and confidentiality.
Demonstrate the ability to disseminate contentious and delicate information, e.g., acutely/critically injured/ill patients/suspected abuse.
To deliver and receive information which may cause emotional distress to all parties both staff and families.
Communicate effectively with patients and their relatives with sensitivity and empathy.
