English Teacher

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. This role is crucial in helping students develop their literacy skills, fostering a love for literature, and supporting their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to KS3/KS4 students.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources.
• Support students' social and emotional development, addressing any barriers to learning.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching English at KS3/KS4 level.
• Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment frameworks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.

Desirable:

• Experience working in a pupil referral unit or similar setting.
• Additional qualifications or training in special educational needs (SEN).
