Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the accounts payable function, focusing on foreign purchase ledger entry and management, ensuring accurate processing of invoices and maintaining financial records.
The successful candidate will also work directly with sales and the warehouse to assist in the shipping process including the generation of export shipping documents and assocaited records. This position requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software (ideally Xero) and excel, making it ideal for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a passion for numbers.
Responsibilities
Pay: £12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week

Responsibilities
- Process foreign purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Reconcile foreign supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions within the accounts payable system
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues related to foreign purchases and shipments
- Perform data entry tasks to update financial records as necessary
- Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Xero and Excel
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and procedures
- Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Good communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal departments
