Our service is growing, and we are excited to announce am upcoming opportunity for a Clerical Supervisor to join our Radiology Clerical team at St Albans City Hospital.
The Clerical Supervisor role is perfect for those with strong communication skills who thrive in a close-knit team environment while also collaborating with a wide range of professionals across the hospital.
You will provide effective and empathetic leadership to the radiology administration team, ensuring a high standard of clerical services across imaging services.
If you have experience in an administrative role, including administrative protocols and procedures, and are interested in an NHS career focused on patient support, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Main duties of the job
Develop close working relationships with the Ultrasound clerical lead in St Albans City Hospital, clerical leads at Hemel Hempstead Hospital and Watford General Hospital.
Work across various areas of the Radiology Department, i.e. X-ray, Reception, Ultrasound Appointments Office, MRI, CT, Maternity Ultrasound, Breast Imaging Reception, Image Transfers and CD burning and A&E X-ray.
Implement policies for own area and propose changes for work practices identifying opportunities for improvement within the Radiology Department via Leek and clerical meetings.

Person specification
Education and qualifications:
Essential criteria- GCSE qualification (Maths, English, IT).
- NVQ3 Customer Care or equivalent experience in a customer facing environment or a willingness to work towards an NVQ3.
- Leadership qualification.
- Conflict resolution.
Knowledge:
Essential criteria- Competent in Microsoft Office programs.
- Understanding of information governance issues and how to manage confidential patient information and Data Protection Act.
- Knowledge of Patient Administration Systems, e.g. CRIS, Clinicom, EPR & CERNER.
- Understanding the Trust’s policy on Equality/Diversity and Health & Safety policies.
Experience:
Essential criteria- Experience of working in a customer orientated environment.
- Experience of working in an administrative role and office protocols and procedures.
- Previous healthcare experience.

- Experience of handling confidential information.
