Senior Pharmacy Technician
Job overview
Due to promotion, we are looking for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly department and predominately support the Inpatient Dispensary services, combined with a small medicines management responsibility.
You must be a registered Pharmacy Technician who is enthusiastic, highly motivated and hardworking.
You should have a BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in Pharmaceutical sciences as well as an accredited checking (ACPT) qualification. Candidates will be considered if working towards or near completion of ACPT course. You should have substantial experience of pharmacy practice including training and mentoring skills.

Main duties of the job
The role is a split position between dispensary and medicines management and will involve working in the Main Inpatient Dispensary, and as part of the ward based Medicines Management Team.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services plus underpinning knowledge from BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or an equivalent accredited qualification.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- National Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) or an equivalent qualification.
- National Accredited NVQ Assessor Scheme (A1) or an equivalent qualification.
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Experience of pharmacy practice.
- Experience dealing with the public.
- Experience of providing training.
- Experience of effective stock control.
- Experience of providing supervision.
- Experience of line managing staff.
- Hospital pharmacy experience.
- Experience within Medicines Management or completion of an appropriate accredited qualification.
