To provide an efficient and responsive administrative service to the Senior Leadership Team, within the Nursing and Patient Experience Directorate.

To provide comprehensive executive administrative support to the Chief of Allied Health Professionals, the Chief of Mental Health, the Health Inequalities Lead and the Head of Patient Experience.

Main duties of the job

The core duties of the role are to support the Directorate Senior Leadership Team in the delivery of the following tasks including but are not limited:

  • To provide comprehensive executive administrative support to Directorate Senior Leadership Team.
  • To provide administrative support to Directorate operational and governance meetings.
  • To support and ensure the efficient and professional running of the N&PE Executive office and other areas of the Directorate as required.
  • Support maintaining an appropriate electronic and physical filing systems for the Directorate.

Academic/Professional qualification/Training

  • Competent in all aspects of Microsoft Office
  • BTEC Diploma/Level 3 Diploma NVQ in Business Administration / RSA Level 3) OR equivalent knowledge gained through relevant work experience

  • Knowledge and skills to degree level or equivalent

Experience/Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience in an administrative or secretarial setting
  • Structure and prioritise own workload to help ensure that the Senior EA’s priorities and deadlines are achieved
  • Develop personal performance based on an accurate understanding of existing levels of skills and knowledge
  • Able to react immediately to complex events and be decisive whilst under pressure
  • Able to operate and maintain administration processes and systems to support the Senior EA
  • Develop and maintain relationships that facilitate the achievement of the Senior EA’s priorities and objectives
  • Taking and transcribing formal minutes from Directorate level meetings
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to gather, analyse and interpret data and information from both electronic and paper-based sources
  • Previous experience of working in an NHS environment

Skills/Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Able to manage time critical and sensitive projects from initiation to completion
  • Advanced keyboard skills, for audio typing and data input
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working in an NHS environment
