The Bakery Assistant role is crucial to our success in ensuring total customer satisfaction through safe and hygienic preparation, production, packaging and dispatch of delicious bakery products; adhering consistently to our quality standards.
ACCOUNTABILITY AND SUPPORT
The Bakery Assistant reports to the Team Leader in their area who will provide the appropriate performance coaching and support.It is important that the Bakery Assistant works in collaboration with all colleagues in Production, Packing, Despatch, Maintenance and Quality Assurance as required, in a positive, helpful and friendly manner; taking care to ensure that the best use is made of Lazy Day Food’s time and resources.
DIRECT REPORTS
The Bakery Assistant will have no line manager responsibilities.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Bakery Assistant is responsible for the following: PREPARATION AND PRODUCTION
Prepare and produce high quality baked goods:
- Weigh and measure products’ recipe ingredients using approved equipment;
- Mix, roll and bake goods to specific ingredient formulas and product weights;
- Prepare fillings and toppings to specific ingredients formulas and products weights;
- Monitor time and temperature controls continuously;
- Finish and cut baked goods, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and appearance are met at all times;
- Operate and maintain equipment in a safe and sanitary manner; informing the Team Leader of any malfunctioning equipment;
- Use appropriate manual handling techniques and safety tools when handling heavy and hot equipment;
- Remove waste from production areas;
- Clean equipment and work areas as directed, ensuring safety and hygiene meets quality standards and adhering to our clean as you go policy;
- Pack, label and prepare goods for despatch;
- Complete inventories upon request and maintain records as applicable;
- Monitor food production equipment for safety and sanitation;
- Comply with all procedures and training requirements;
- Comply with all terms contained in the allergen awareness policy.
