Job Profile
A well-established Architectural & General Metalwork Fabricator based in the Cambridgeshire area just west of Huntingdon are looking to take on a Quantity Surveyor. The company that the Quantity Surveyor will be working for manufacture Steel Structures for the Construction Industry working on a range of retail, commercial, residential, infrastructure and utility projects.
The Quantity Surveyor will be working alongside a team of Project Managers and will work independently on a portfolio of steelwork projects. The Surveyor will play a client facing role, support the growth of the project management team, and deliver projects from feasibility through to completion.
Quantity Surveyor Position Overview- Assessing applications from subcontractors
- Preparing/ sorting tender pack information
- Receiving and comparing quotes for future projects
- Assessing payment notices
- Ensure cost control is maintained on project basis throughout procurement, delivery and design, through to final account stage.
- Monitor Project Costs
- Pricing variation
- Collating Bills of Quantities
- Collate information for Final Accounts
- Attend financial meetings
- Degree or HNC within a Quantity Surveying or Civil / Structural Engineering Discipline
- Working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Commercial Management works on site
- Experience working in a commercial role
- Understanding of steelwork preferred
- Excellent IT skills - especially Excel and Google Sheets
- Effective communication skills
- A full UK driving licence
- Salary Dependant on experience Circa £50K
- 21 days holiday + BH
