In line with the Trusts policy, consent must be obtained prior to any intervention with a patient and documented appropriately. To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work including the management of patients in our care.
To be responsible for organising and planning your own caseload to meet service and patient priorities, readjusting plans as situations change or arise. To undertake a skilful and proficient assessment of patients, including those with diverse/multi pathologies.
To use proficient clinical reasoning skills, assessment and treatment techniques to provide an individualised treatment programme, in the hospital or the patients home. To formulate and deliver an individual Occupational Therapy treatment programme based on sound knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment options, using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge and skills of treatment techniques.

To be assigned a defined area of responsibility for managing patients with particular conditions. To be responsible for providing appropriate Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment plans for patients within this remit.
