An opportunity has arisen for an 8A Advanced Practice Physiotherapist (APP) to join the musculoskeletal service at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust. You will be working as part of a team of APPs and a consultant physiotherapist. CLCH is one of the largest community trusts and offers MSK services in the London borough of Barnet.
There is opportunity to access a large variety of in house and external development programmes including injection therapy, access to imaging, ionising radiation and Masters level clinical assessment, advanced clinical practice modules and the opportunity to develop leadership skills through project work.
We are looking for someone who is motivated to expand their MSK skills, actively engaged with evidence based practice and are adaptable to the rapidly changing healthcare agenda.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of the practitioners professional activities .To utilise expert clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based knowledge to assess patients with highly complex presentations and implement physiotherapy management plans as an autonomous practitioner .To interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical facts, which may be conflicting to regularly provide expert advice and second opinion to peers, medical colleagues and other health professionals.
This includes the formulation of accurate prognoses, recommendation of best course of intervention and development of comprehensive discharge plans .To request and use the results of specialist investigations (e.g. x-rays, blood tests, ultrasound and MRI scans) to assist the formulation of diagnoses and plan patient management.If appropriate training is undertaken the clinician may choose to use injection therapy when indicated under a Patient Group Directive (PGD) .To use advanced theoretical and practical knowledge to refer on to other departments/medical colleagues within or outside the Trust as necessary, based on investigation results and advanced clinical assessment.
To provide written reports of clinical opinion to medical and other colleagues as required. Risk effectively at all times.

Person specification
Education/Qualification
Essential criteria- Degree in physiotherapy
- HCPC registration
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Formal injection therapy qualification
- Working towards or has Masters level degree
Experience
Essential criteria- Minimum 5 years’ experience at B7 level in musculoskeletal
- Previous experience of working as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner autonomously
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria- Contributed to or led audit and or research
- Demonstrates awareness of the wider context of musculoskeletal health at a national and local level
Key Attributes
Essential criteria- Strong team player with the ability to lead developments within their sphere of responsibility
- Is able to consistently demonstrate emotional intelligence
