Highview and Aberdeen Park Community Rehabilitation Units, Islington
Highview and Aberdeen Park are 24hr staffed, 15 bed mixed community rehabilitation units situated in the London Borough of Islington. The units aim to provide quality rehabilitation and skill development for residents with severe and chronic mental health needs.Residents have often had long or multiple admissions to inpatient care before moving to the units and work with the team to develop skills and well-being for moving on to independent and supported accommodations.
The role of the Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner will be primarily to implement therapy plans which have been devised in collaboration with the resident and occupational therapist. This will include working with residents to develop their skills of daily living alongside supporting the residents to develop community connections and meaningful routines.
The partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) is going from strength to strength since it was originally established in 2021 forming the North London Mental Health Partnership.

The post will be 9am-5pm although some flexibility for working outside of these hours may be required to support residents in accessing evening or weekend activities. This will be done in agreement with the clinical team managers.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about working in mental health rehabilitation and has previous experience working in this area. The successful post holder will receive regular supervision from an occupational therapist and will be a core part of the multi-disciplinary team across the two sites.
