To undertake IT training needs analysis in support of training required in projects by: establishing benchmarks for the training against which peoples competencies will be assessed (e.g. researching the results of other similar projects) taking part in the development and testing of assessment tools ensuring that trainees attending courses meet pre-requisite skill levels to undertake the course successfully Responsible for delivering technology based training programmes for clinical and non-clinical systems across ULHT and the health community and to regularly review and update existing training programmes for all systems, in co-ordination with ULHT and departmental policies.

To establish and utilise the most appropriate method of delivery for all grades of staff, irrespective of IT skills up to and including executive levels e.g. one-to-one training sessions classroom and workplace based group sessions (presentations and hands on) webinar based training e-learning (design and development) To undertake the role of module lead or site based lead for an existing clinical or non-clinical system and ensure that: any new releases of the software are assessed for any subsequent training implications manuals/materials are updated to reflect the changes they contribute to both internal and external meetings and provide constructive input to project teams To undertake the role of lead trainer in the implementation of new software on an affected health community wide rollout basis.

This will involve: representing the IT training department by attending and providing constructive input at regular project meetings as requested working with other business units including participating in working groups to encompass new ways of working and communicating information back to the team and team management co-ordinating train-the-trainer courses to ensure uniformity and understanding of the system ensure course plans/materials are ready for the effective delivery of training on the new software To test, trial and learn new software (both clinical and non-clinical systems) in order to understand the functionality involved and how the software meets the needs of ULHT.

To communicate any concerns or suggestions regarding the implementation of the software to the appropriate project manager, business change manager or lead trainer. On learning the new software (clinical or non-clinical) to an in-depth knowledge the trainer will translate this into structured end-user training courses.

To design and develop appropriate training materials and techniques for all new systems e.g. e-learning, e-tutoring, e-training and to investigate new and innovative ways of delivering training in order to manage the major challenges ahead and meet the increasing demands of ULHT.
