SENDIASS Information and Advice Officer

• Hourly Rate: £13.69 PAYE

Additionally, the role includes responsibilities in service communications, such as managing the website and social media channels, and developing service resources like guides and information videos.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Respond to voicemails, emails, and web enquiries made to the advice line.
• Provide initial, general information and advice on SEND processes and topics.
• Offer appropriate signposting in line with enquiries.
• Collect service user data in accordance with service policies and GDPR requirements.
• Conduct triage assessments for enquiries that require additional advice and support.
• Assist in the delivery of virtual and in-person outreach activities such as information sessions, workshops, and advice sessions.
• Contribute to writing and updating service resources.
• Manage and post updates on social media platforms.
• Escalate risks or concerns about safeguarding in a timely manner.
• Uphold Council Values and comply with all relevant policies and procedures, particularly those related to Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity, and Health & Safety.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience working as part of a team to deliver on the service offer.
• Understanding of the needs of vulnerable children and their families, particularly those with complex and Special Educational Needs.
• Ability to interpret legislation in a user-friendly manner for families.
• Skills to defuse situations that may lead to conflict and communication breakdowns.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Proficiency in collecting and analysing data for strategic monitoring.
• Good general standard of education, at least to the equivalent of NVQ level 3.
