Special Needs Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a 1:2:1 Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work within an alternative setting, supporting Primary and Secondary aged pupils. This provision provides various educational settings for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, who are outside of mainstream school for a variety of reasons including behaviour, medical, and complex needs.
Working hours are between 9-12am sessions and between 12-2.30pm sessions
As a 1:2:1 Special Needs Teaching Assistant you will be involved in working with a particular child, you will actively support the student with academic development and also support them in meeting social and behavioural expectations. The post requires the candidate to provide home to Support Centre transport; therefore a full driving license, business insurance and own transport is essential.
We are looking for candidates with:
Experience of working with Special NeedsConfidence in working with challenging behaviour
An understanding of how to establish positive working relationships
Ability to be a patient and positive role model
Available for work immediately
A Full Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Up Date Service would be an advantage, or candidate must be happy to pay towards a new Enhanced DBS Check to be carried out.
