Your leadership can shape the future of the lives of young people and as the Registered Manager of Vinney Green Secure Children’s Home, you will inspire a dedicated team to deliver exceptional care, driving real, impactful change every day.

Using your passion and expertise in social care, you’ll drive transformation and shape better futures for the young people in our care. By leading on all services within the home, you can make a significant difference where it truly counts.

A salary market supplement of £8,000 is applied to this post, taking the basic salary to £69,165 - £76,060pa. Please note the 2024/25 pay award is pending.

In addition, there is a secure unit allowance which is an additional £2583 per annum.

A Relocation package is available.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be the guiding force behind our mission to create a safe and nurturing environment for young people who need our guidance and support. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:

  • Using your wealth of social care experience, you’ll ensure that Vinney Green is a place where every young person feels truly supported and valued.
  • Managing our 24-bedded secure home, you will lead your dedicated team to deliver exceptional care, education and vocational training.
  • From daily operations to finance, you’ll develop strategic planning, ensuring resources and staff are used efficiently with solid financial monitoring in place.
  • At times, this can be a challenging work environment, so you will need to utilise your people skills to motivate and guide our passionate group of staff. You will be at the heart of building a workplace environment where everyone feels inspired to give their best.
  • Building and nurturing relationship will be key to your role. You’ll connect with external agencies and stakeholders, including the inspectorate Ofstead,leveraging your networking skills to drive collaborative efforts that ensure the best outcomes for the young people in our care.
What we need from you
  • With your current or pending Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management, you will confidently meet Ofsted registration requirements.
  • Having been a senior manager in social care, you will already have a thorough understanding of secure units, legislation, inspection safeguarding and child protection.
  • You know how to keep things running smoothly and bring out the best in your team. People trust you to lead and you do it with ease.
  • Being a strategic person, you’re no stranger to developing partnerships and delivering policy direction and will guide the home toward impactful outcomes.
  • Using your expertise in budget management and financial planning, you will help maintain the homes efficiency and sustainability.
  • You’re dedicated to creating an environment of equality and diversity, ensuring fair opportunities for all and making tangible, positive changes.
