To Support the Matron and inpatient ward manager to ensure that high quality patient focused care is delivered within the Childrens and Young Persons Day Unit (CYPDU), surgical day case and Childrens Outpatient Department. To actively participate in the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the service.
To act as an expertly skilled clinical nurse, leader and role model whilst providing direct quality patient care. To utilise expert clinical judgement, decision making and skills in relation to the assessment and management of children within the service.
To work within the Child and Young Persons Day Unit, Childrens Outpatients and surgical teams on nursing issues and management of clinical governance issues. To participate in the supervision, teaching, mentorship and appraisal of pre and post registration nurses.
To work collaboratively with the multi-professional team and inpatient ward manager to ensure the delivery of high quality service provision. The post holder will be required to work flexibly to achieve the key responsibilities of the post. To maintain and support the efficient use of physical and /or financial resources.
