Interviews to take place week commencing 4th May 2026*

We are looking for an inspiring Teacher of Religious Education to join our ambitious and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to make a real impact on student outcomes.

You will deliver engaging and challenging lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring all students are supported to achieve their very best. As an enthusiastic practitioner, you will bring strong subject knowledge, high expectations, and a commitment to continually improving the quality of teaching and learning.

You’ll play a key part in our faculty’s commitment to academic excellence—assessing student progress, delivering high‑quality teaching and learning, and contributing to meaningful, sustained improvement.

We are seeking a teacher who meets professional standards for their career stage, is committed to exceptional classroom practice, and is eager to collaborate within a dynamic faculty. You will also fulfil the responsibilities of a school teacher in line with the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.

If you are motivated, student‑focused, and ready to contribute to a forward‑thinking school, we would love to hear from you. Join us and help shape a brighter future for our learners.

Why Join Blackburn Central High School

We are a popular, thriving school based in the heart of our community. We have been recognised by the Department for Education for our inclusive approach to education and Ofsted has congratulated our staff for being ‘determined and successful in improving teaching and students’ achievement’.

We are looking for a colleague who shares the clear vision that the child is at the heart of everything we do. One who can enjoy positive, professional relationships with young people and who demonstrates high levels of resilience and emotional intelligence.

Every child is entitled to an outstanding education where they have excellent opportunities to achieve beyond their potential. We strive to develop the aspirations and values of every student and member of staff.

We are laying strong foundations for growth and have a clear vision for the trust. This role is a key part of our growth strategy and could be an excellent opportunity for the right candidate ready for their next step. We are a values driven organisation, are highly ambitious, passionate about doing things with integrity whilst maintaining a good sense of humour.

We would be happy to arrange a visit to the school, where we can discuss with you the importance of the school within the local community and how, by working with us, you can be part of the team that builds on the past, ensures performance in the present and prepares the students for their future successes.
