We are excited to announce due to expansion of services and NHS demand we are recruiting enthusiastic and motivated individuals for our Patient Transport Service (PTS) crews, on a full, part time basis in the Oxfordshire area.
No experience? No problem as we provide full training!

Ambulance Care Assistants (ACA) will convey a range of people to and from outpatient clinics, renal dialysis, admissions and discharges following inpatient treatments. You often see the same patients on a regular basis and really get to know them.

Frequently you will be part of a two-person team using a specially designed ambulance with access for wheelchairs, stretchers and conveying several people on each journey. As well as driving our Patient Transport service (PTS) vehicles, you will also be lifting and helping to move some of your patients in and out of the vehicle using the equipment provided.

You will ensure that they are safe and comfortable during the journey and that they arrive on time for their appointment ahead of time.

You must be over 19 years of age, have held a full manual UK driving license for 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
A conditional job offer may be made to candidates who are successful at the selection process, subject to a satisfactory DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance at Enhanced Level regarding vulnerable adults and children, receipt of satisfactory references, identity checks, right to work in UK checks, and an online check of your full UK driving license status.

Entry requirements

These are some of the criteria you will need to be successful as an ACA with i ON Ambulance:

  • Valid UK full B category driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
  • Customer/patient experience
  • Good numeracy, literacy and verbal communication skills
  • Honesty, reliability, trustworthiness and compassion
  • Sympathetic, respectful and caring attitude towards patients and colleagues
  • Flexibility and adaptability in accordance with the needs of the service
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
