Are you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs?We are seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming
school community in Okehampton. This full-time, permanent position offers an
immediate start and the opportunity to work with children who have Autism
Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other learning needs, helping them thrive
in a supportive and inclusive environment.
### Key Responsibilities- **Individualised Support:** Provide one-on-one and small-group assistance, helping SEN students engage with lessons and develop important life skills.
- **IEP Implementation:** Assist teachers in delivering and adapting Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to suit the unique needs of each student.
- **Promoting Positive Behaviour:** Foster a positive and structured classroom atmosphere by encouraging constructive behaviour and social skill development.
- **Monitoring Progress:** Observe and document student progress, sharing regular updates with teachers and parents to support their growth and development.
- **Experience:** Previous experience in SEN support is an advantage, but we welcome candidates with a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- **Skills:** Strong communication, patience, adaptability, and a nurturing approach to working with children.
- **Qualifications:** GCSE Maths and English proficiency is preferred but not essential for the right candidate.
