This application is for the post of Specialist in Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine with an interest in Paediatric Anaesthesia at University College Hospitals NHS Trust. The post is a permanent post and provides an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven candidate to join a progressive and dynamic department.They will contribute to developing our goals of clinical excellence, training of the highest quality in Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine and world class research.
Subspecialty posts may be limited or full for this start date (marked *) and you may be offered an alternative, including a General post. Bespoke fellowships may be accommodated, dependent on availability.
The post will involve delivering anaesthesia across all specialities and half of the direct clinical care will support the consultant anaesthetist led team anaesthetising children for cancer treatments. This includes proton beam therapy and radiotherapy in remote areas across UCLH.
This post offers a balanced job plan, predominantly Monday to Friday daytime hours, including a half programmed activity covering weekend and bank holidays general and paediatric theatre lists. The job plan does not include an expectation of covering 'on call' or joining the resident doctor on call rota.
We aim to support these posts in accordance with the SAS charter and actively encourage career development. Our department has developed a portfolio pathway and UCLH is supported by a SAS tutor and a SAS advocate.
