Field Engineer
An opportunity for a Field Engineer Site Technician to join the leading supplier of rail door system related modification maintenance and overhaul services to the UK rail and rolling stock sector
This role will involve carrying out engineering tasks in accordance with the company s procedures for contracted work at designation train maintenance depots
This role will involve travel to various depots and client sites across the UK accomodation when needed is covered with a company van and fuel card provided
Key Responsibilities for this Field Engineer role - Ensure work is completed in a timely manner in accordance with the project requirements set out by the Service and Operations Manager- Remove overhaul and re-install mechanical and electrical door components in accordance with the correct documentation
- Sign off work in accordance with the relevant check sheets
- Accountable for the company s supplied tooling ensuring they are maintained correctly All damaged tooling or tooling not fit for purpose needs reporting
- Required to monitor labels and certification for all tooling equipment that require to be regulated (PAT Calibrated)
- Complete any additional paperwork that is generated that is applicable to the project
- Required to assist and co-ordinate with the Engineering project team if required
- Doors experience is desirable
- Required to be flexible with working location if needed
- Experience of observing safe working practices to comply with the requirements of Health and Safety legislation
- Experience in overhauling and re-installing mechanical and electrical components - ideally doors
- Experience of checking and signing off other engineer s work
