Team Manager – Safeguarding Adults
Overview:
Are you a dynamic and experienced safeguarding professional ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? Harrow Council is seeking a passionate and strategic Adult Multiagency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team Manager to lead a dedicated team at the forefront of adult protection.
In this pivotal role, you will:
- Lead and coordinate a multi-disciplinary team to ensure timely, effective safeguarding responses.
- Drive collaborative working across health, police, social care, and voluntary sectors.
- Champion best practices in safeguarding adults at risk, ensuring compliance with the Care Act and local safeguarding procedures.
- Use data and insight to inform decision-making and service improvement.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Substantial experience in adult safeguarding and multiagency working.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- A commitment to person-centred, strengths-based practice.
- A social work qualification and registration with Social Work England (or equivalent).

About you:
The successful candidate will have:
- Extensive working knowledge of the legislation/policies that relate to the safeguarding adults’ agenda i.e. Mental Capacity Act/Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards; Care Act – to a level that enables clear guidance to be given to staff.
- Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
- Significant experience in carrying out and/or overseeing safeguarding adults’ enquiries.
- Experience of chairing Safegurding Meeting.
- Relevant professional qualifications e.g. CSS, CQSW, DipSW.
- Ability to deal with complex issues appropriately e.g. oversee several ongoing enquiries running concurrently.
- Ability to work occasional unsocial hours.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience.
