Team Manager – Safeguarding Adults

Overview:

Are you a dynamic and experienced safeguarding professional ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? Harrow Council is seeking a passionate and strategic Adult Multiagency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team Manager to lead a dedicated team at the forefront of adult protection.

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate a multi-disciplinary team to ensure timely, effective safeguarding responses.
  • Drive collaborative working across health, police, social care, and voluntary sectors.
  • Champion best practices in safeguarding adults at risk, ensuring compliance with the Care Act and local safeguarding procedures.
  • Use data and insight to inform decision-making and service improvement.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Substantial experience in adult safeguarding and multiagency working.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • A commitment to person-centred, strengths-based practice.
  • A social work qualification and registration with Social Work England (or equivalent).

About you:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Extensive working knowledge of the legislation/policies that relate to the safeguarding adults’ agenda i.e. Mental Capacity Act/Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards; Care Act – to a level that enables clear guidance to be given to staff.
  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
  • Significant experience in carrying out and/or overseeing safeguarding adults’ enquiries.
  • Experience of chairing Safegurding Meeting.
  • Relevant professional qualifications e.g. CSS, CQSW, DipSW.
  • Ability to deal with complex issues appropriately e.g. oversee several ongoing enquiries running concurrently.
  • Ability to work occasional unsocial hours.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience.
