A fantastic temporary opportunity has arisen for a full-time Activity co-ordinator to join our well-established teams on the male adult acute ward at Lynfield Mount Hospital.

The vacancy will be based on Oakburn ward at Lynfield Mount Hosptial which is the acute psychiatric ward, caring for males aged 18-65 who are experiencing acute mental illness.

Main duties of the job

As an activity co-ordinator you will work within the occupational therapy team structure to assist in the delivery of meaningful activity on the ward and within the local community, and support recovery and transition from hospital to home. You will work collaboratively with the wider multi-disciplinary team both on the ward and in the community.

In addition, you will be involved in service development within the relevant area.

We are seeking an innovative individual, able to work collaboratively with service users and staff, and integrate well into the multidisciplinary team on the ward.

The provision will incorporate a 7-day service with shift working to enhance the therapeutic offer for service users, and the successful applicant will complete 12 hour shifts.

This position is not eligible for sponsorship set by the Home Office and the skilled worker visa occupation list.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • Caring and working with people/children in a health care environment.
  • • Numeracy and literacy skills at level 2.
Desirable criteria
  • • NVQ III in care; QCF diploma level 1 or equivalent.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Experience of working in Adult Mental Health or Rehabilitation services.
  • • Experience of delivering meaningful/therapeutic activity.
  • • Experience of dealing with the public.
