Warehouse Operative

Humdinger, Sherburn in Elmet

The Warehouse Operative is responsible for all the warehouse operations and duties across the shift and is responsible for the materials and accuracy of stock within the warehouse. They will be responsible for the flow of stock throughout the warehouse, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of materials to the Production and Packing departments solving and reporting any problems on discovery

Position type: Full-time, Permanent.
Hours: 40
Pay range: £14.22 /hour (£29,577.60 equivalent)

Breaks: 1 x 30 Minutes & 2 x15 Minutes PAID.

Shift Pattern:

  1. hour days and nights. You MUST be able to work both.

Week 1: Sunday to Tuesday 18:00 - 06:00 (3 nights followed by 5 days off)

Week 2: Monday to Tuesday 06:00 - 18:00 & Wednesday to Thursday 18:00 - 06:00 (2 days followed by 2 nights followed by 5 days off)

Week 3: Wednesday to Friday 06:00 - 18:00 (followed by 1 day off, then start again on week 1)

Responsibilities:

  • Support the business in meeting health, safety, and environmental responsibilities by promptly reporting hazard spots and near misses.
  • Ensure material handling equipment is always fully charged and ready for use, immediately notifying the Team Leader of any faults or damage.
  • Load and unload vehicles efficiently, adhering to both daily and weekly plans.
  • Accurately record and process all incoming goods immediately upon receipt.
  • Maintain constant movement of finished goods and returns, ensuring that the DES is kept up to date and any discrepancies are promptly reported to the Team Leader.
  • Ensure production lines run smoothly by verifying stock allocation to the correct work orders.
  • Deliver requested products to the Line Feed on time, within 2 hours of receiving kits or requisitions within 30 minutes.
  • Support daily aisle checks and participate in monthly stock audits.
  • Ensure all orders are picked with accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in warehouse operations
  • Strong IT and computer skills
  • Excellent communication abilities

Desirable:

  • Counterbalance Forklift Licence
  • Flexi Truck Forklift Licence
  • Electric Pump Truck Licence
  • Experience with QAD or similar warehouse management systems
  • Food Safety Level 2 Certification
  • Health and Safety Level 2 Certification
  • HACCP Awareness
