Role Overview:

Teaching Personnel are seeking a passionate and dedicated School Youth Worker to join one of our client secondary schools in South Manchester. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the emotional and social development of the students.

You will work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create a safe and nurturing environment where students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
  • Develop and implement programs aimed at promoting positive behaviour and mental well-being.
  • Facilitate group activities that encourage teamwork, communication skills, and personal development.
  • Act as a liaison between students, parents, and school staff to ensure effective communication regarding student needs.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Organise workshops on topics such as resilience, conflict resolution, and peer relationships.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions and interventions.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in youth work, social work, psychology or education (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Youth Work).
  • Experience working with young people in an educational or community setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
