Job Summary

The Health Care Support Worker will provide assistance and support to individuals with physical, mental, and emotional needs. The role involves helping clients achieve a higher level of independence, enhancing their quality of life, and ensuring their well-being through personal care, daily living assistance, and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities:

Personal Care:

  • Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support clients with mobility, including using wheelchairs, lifts, and other aids.
  • Help clients with feeding and ensuring they maintain a balanced diet.

Daily Living Assistance:

  • Assist clients with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Accompany clients to appointments, social activities, and community events.
  • Help clients manage their finances, including budgeting and paying bills.

Emotional and Social Support:

  • Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities.
  • Support clients in developing social networks and participating in community life.
  • Listen to clients' concerns and provide emotional reassurance and support.

Healthcare Support:

  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor for any side effects.
  • Assist with physical therapy exercises as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Observe and report any changes in clients' health or behaviour to the relevant healthcare professionals.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and clients' progress.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Report any incidents or concerns promptly and appropriately.

Professional Development:

  • Participate in training and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Stay updated on best practices and new developments in care and support.

Qualifications:

  • Care certificate is desirable
  • Previous experience in a care or support role is advantageous.
  • Basic life support (BLS) and PMVA/ CPI certification is an advantage.
  • Full Uk licence is required.
  • Access to own car is desirable
  • You must have the right to work within the UK

  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.

Working Conditions:

  • Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
  • Physical demands such as lifting, moving clients, and standing for long periods.
  • Working in clients' homes, residential care facilities, or community settings.

Pay: £11.50-£12.00 per hour
