Join our dedicated team, where we provide essential support to young people under the care of the Local Authority. This role is crucial for those looking to make a significant impact in the lives of young individuals by offering both emotional and practical support aimed at fostering independence and well-being.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional and practical support to young people, assisting them with daily tasks such as meal preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
  • Offer advice on health and safety issues and support young people in understanding and managing their responsibilities.
  • Engage in assessment and casework processes, maintaining accurate and timely documentation including weekly updates and monthly reports for social workers or the Local Authority.
  • Collaborate with social workers, the Local Authority, and other agencies to enhance service delivery and support offered to young people.
  • Empower young people by providing guidance and support, helping them to access resources, and referring them to appropriate services.
  • Participate in home visits and assist social workers with tasks related to case management, including court appearances and family contact supervision.
  • Advocate for young people’s needs and contribute to team efforts to ensure services are inclusive and non-discriminatory.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a support role, preferably within a residential or outreach setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective relationships with young people and professionals.
  • Commitment to equal opportunities and the ability to work flexibly and creatively.
  • Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, and work on a shift basis, including potential sleep-in duties.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and the ability to promptly address any concerns.
