Job overview
We are looking to recruit a band 8B, IDT Senior Infrastructure Project Manager. The role would be part of the Digital Infrastructure and Technical Support Team
The postholder will lead and manage a range of IDT Infrastructure projects that support the over-arching IDT Digital Strategy and Roadmap.
Working in collaboration with clinicians, Divisions. staff and other enabling functions to lead digital transformation within the Trust, you will manage all stages of project delivery lifecycle, ensure all project management controls (utilising PRINCE2 methodology) are in place and are being adhered to in line with IDT and Trust standards.
You will be accountable for the detailed scoping, planning and delivery of key Infrastructure projects (and related tasks). You will lead project team/s, coaching and mentoring individuals to best support project needs and outcomes.
The postholder will be responsible for overseeing the management and monitoring of progress within individual IT projects. You will drive progress in line with the overall project plan, highlighting variances, identifying key milestones, risks and critical path events.You will ensure interdependencies are identified and that delivery is monitored and reported on to the Head/Deputy Head of Digital Infrastructure, so that the overall objectives of the projects are met in relation to time and budget.

Previous experience of clinical information systems and IT Infrastructure would be a definite advantage.

Person specification
Education
Essential criteria- Educated to Masters / degree level; and/or working knowledge and experience at an equivalent level
- Project Management qualification (PRINCE2, Agile, MSP etc)
- Professional training delivery qualification or equivalent experience of delivering and facilitating in challenging environments
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria- Extensive (5 years plus) experience of project management / delivery in Healthcare (ideally IT Healthcare projects)
- Extensive knowledge of operations and / or project management methodologies and techniques
- Excellent understanding and track record of successful change and project management
- Full lifecycle project delivery (start to finish)
- IDT technical experience and knowledge
- Knowledge of NHS finance and procurement standards.
- • Project Delivery associated methodologies and tools (eg: Lean, KAIZEN, SWOT…).
Experience
Essential criteria- Full lifecycle project delivery (start to finish)
- Practical experience of implementing complex IT infrastructure projects
- Proven ability to oversee / manage / lead teams
- Third party stakeholder engagement and management (suppliers etc) and/or related experience
- Knowledge and real-world experience of Risk, Issue and Dependency Management and mitigation techniques (in a project environment)
- Successful delivery technical infrastructure projects i.e. server migrations, network upgrades, end user compute replacement
- Experience of delivering IT infrastructure projects within an Acute Hospital setting
- Procurement lifecycle experience
- Experience of technical change management processes
