Valley is an outstanding special school which caters for nursery and primary aged pupils with profound and complex learning difficulties. Some children have autism too.
We wish to appoint a teaching assistant who is
Child-centred in their approach
Sensitive and patient in their dealings with children who have significant special needs and who may, at times, present challenging behaviourKnowledgeable about, or interested in, working with children who have autism and or profound and complex learning and physical difficulties including complex health needs
Flexible, versatile and positive
Committed to their own training and development
We have a very low turnover of teaching assistants and when people do leave us it is often to retire or for career progression including teaching, nursing or therapy posts.
The successful candidate will be based in a class with up to 8 pupils.
High quality ongoing training is provided within school for all staff.
