Senior Client Funds Officer

We are excited to announce the opportunity for a Senior Client Funds Officer to join us on a 12-month fixed term contract to support our dedicated Client Funds Team. We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual with excellent communication skills, a flexible mindset, and the capacity to work efficiently under pressure, juggling demanding and conflicting situations/issues.

The Client Funds Team provides a Deputyship and Appointeeship Service for vulnerable adults who have been assessed as lacking the capacity to manage their own property and financial affairs. This is a varied and interesting role, with a wide range of duties which ensures that the best interest of our clients is always served, and their money is used to give them the best possible quality of life.

This role would suit someone who has previous experience in a financial/administrative/caring role, with good organisational skills, sound financial awareness, and an understanding of the person-centred support needed for our clients.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has an ability to communicate at all levels. You will be dealing with a variety of clients, third parties, government bodies and other organisations advocating on behalf of the client

You will need:

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to gather complex financial and non-financial information to support applications for benefits, applications to Court and annual reporting to the Office of the Public Guardian

Knowledge of welfare benefits and the ability to understand and interpret national legislation, policies, and guidance

Ability to make sound financial decisions, planning and monitoring client’s budgets and safeguarding future financial needs

Ability to prioritise conflicting demands and to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines

To travel throughout the county to meetings with client’s/other council representatives and outside organisations as and when required

The successful candidate will need an enhanced DBS check to be completed
