To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN/RGN) or Operating Department Practitioner qualification.
- Valid and clear NMC or HCPC registration.
- Proven and substantial experience in gynaecology surgical settings, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the specific challenges and requirements of these procedures.
- A strong command of sterile technique and infection control protocols, coupled with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that are essential for fostering positive patient interactions and effective teamwork.
As a Gynaecology Scrub Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing the operating room by ensuring all surgical equipment is sterile, properly set up, and ready for use
- Assisting the surgical team during a variety of gynaecological procedures, including surgeries and examinations
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff in the operating room
- Providing compassionate and supportive care to gynaecology patients, offering emotional support before, during, and after procedures
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care for gynaecology patients
