Rheumatology Nurse, Band 6, up to 36 hours per week available, Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, Cumbria.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will contribute to the provision of the investigation and management of patients with rheumatological diseases in the North Cumbria Health Community. (to include both acute hospital sites)
In conjunction with and on instruction from Rheumatology specialist nurse(s) and/or Consultants, they will assist in providing nursing intervention, care, advice (lifestyle, disease management), support and education to those including patients diagnosed with rheumatological conditions, their carers, families, General Practitioners, practice nurses, district nurses and ward teams.
Responsible and accountable in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care for this client group, the post holder will actively contribute to the development of Rheumatology services across North Cumbria (to include both acute hospital sites) particularly for this client group.

Standard DBS check £21.50, Enhanced DBS check £49.50 + any admin costs.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Registered nurse with active registration
- Teaching/Mentoring Qualitification
- Post registration study
- Non Medical Prescribing qualification
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Experience in a relevant field of nursing
- Budgetary awareness
- Previous experience of Clinical Supervision
- An awareness of the requirements of the post.
- Able to act as a clinical supervisor
- Demonstration of continued learning
- Be aware of, and act in, accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Able to act as a mentor and preceptor as required by the Trust and unit
- Understanding of professional leadership within area of practice
- Previous experience as mentor to pre-registration nursing students.
