About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools in Winchester. This is an exciting opportunity to support our teaching staff and contribute to the educational development of our students.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide support in delivering lessons, managing classroom activities, and assisting students with learning challenges. Your role will be integral in helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in preparing and delivering lessons.
- Support students individually or in small groups, particularly those with additional learning needs.
- Help manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe, respectful environment.
- Work with students on their academic and personal development.
- Assist with classroom administration and preparation of materials.
- Monitor and track student progress and report any concerns to the teacher.
- Support the inclusion of students with special educational needs (SEN) or English as a second language (EAL), if applicable.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting (preferred but not essential).
- A Teaching Assistant qualification is desired (Level 2 or 3) or equivalent, or a strong willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Desirable:
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) or EAL students.
- First Aid certification (training can be provided).
- A commitment to professional development and ongoing training.
