This role will be responsible for the effective management of the WD-40 Company EIMEA upstream supply management, ensuring that products, formulations and components are manufactured and delivered in a timely, cost effective and sustainable manner to achieve defined goals.

Responsibilities:

Forecasting & Demand Planning
  • Develops and leads the forecasting process with direct branches, distributors, BDMs and customer facing teams to develop a forward forecast followed by a confirmed demand plan for EIMEA across all countries and channels. Includes unit and dollar forecasting.
  • Leads the development of systems and collaborative best practice forecasting methods and tools to continuously develop and improve the content of the forecast, the processes used and forecasting accuracy.
  • Coordinates with Commercial and Product Commercialization teams to incorporate new product requirements into the demand forecasts.
  • Reviews and communicates forward forecast and demand plans up the supply chain tiers to ensure appropriate capacity, raw materials and inventory are in place to fully support the production of finished goods and attainment of OTIF and other defined metrics.
  • Translates the consolidated EIMEA demand plan into componentry requirements to communicate and action as required with the extended supply chain.
  • Reviews the strategic component inventories at all points in the process, making recommendations to adjust levels and improve costs and service where possible.
  • Coordinates forecasting and planning for product components/cans/materials, supporting the Supply Chain and Sourcing Managers to ensure rebate and other volume targets are optimized.
  • Responsible for inventory composition strategy, management and cost-based reporting.
  • Responsible for collaborating with Finance in the reporting of inventory cost accuracy.
Supply Management
  • Leads the ordering and replenishment process, ensuring that purchase orders are raised on suppliers in order to meet the demand plan inclusive of customer orders, market forecasts and inventory plans.
  • Collaborates with suppliers in the co-creation of production plans to optimize capacity and costs while prioritizing deliverables.
  • Leads the development and continuous improvement of systems processes and procedures to achieve automation, reduce redundancy, increase accuracy within the ordering process.
  • Ensures that all relevant system master data related to SKU ordering is maintained and is correct and up to date.
  • Monitors the supply and fulfillment of the production plans, identifying and managing variances, expediting/de-expediting/escalating as required to protect the commercial business.
  • Oversee resolution of any production/capacity challenges, and coordination and engagement with applicable internal partners in the issue resolution. Collaborates with internal functions to identify and resolve issues and prioritize production to ensure OTIF and other metrics are attained.
  • Takes corrective action to avoid or minimise impact from potential stock outs.
  • Works closely with the Supply Chain and Sourcing Managers to ensure effective purchasing and ordering to ensure sales margin levels are maintained and optimised.
  • Responsible for management and oversight of component consignment stock held with Tier 1 suppliers: tracking stock levels, approving transfers (120-day stock), monitoring usage and maintaining compliance.
  • Oversees and optimizes inventory position in all markets and suppliers, including actual year-to-date numbers and forecasts to identify problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Active collaboration with planners and participation in monthly planning meetings with fillers and other manufacturers as well as internal Supply Chain teams to discuss and resolve monthly and quarterly demand plans, stock management, risk mitigation, issue resolution, performance and forward requirements
  • Coordinates with Sourcing in creation of long term 5-yr +/- volume planning. Allocates SKU volume between suppliers to meet and optimize agreed targets for production volumes.
Supplier Performance Management
  • Responsible for leading supplier relationship and performance management (OTIF, FCD, etc.)
  • Communicates supplier performance expectations per defined product specifications to ensure product integrity and achieve goals
  • Oversees planning and communication of expediting and de-expediting of materials

Systems Development and Maintenance

Responsible for all aspects of the demand forecasting process and system (including data inputs/outputs, data hierarchies, policies, settings and processes). Drives the implementation, development and maintenance of demand planning tools by applying expertise in process, technology and forecasting practices.

Develops and recommends processes improvements, transitions, and forecasting policies to enable team to extract efficiencies from current and new system environments that result in operational and financial benefits. Leads and supports data mapping and cleansing, data validation and the development and execution of end user testing plans.

Communication and reporting
  • Communicates issues, status, and resolutions with the wider business, both routine and ad-hoc.
  • Captures, assesses and interprets data to report management information on status, trends, POS sell through analysis, and potential issues affecting the supply chain.
  • Provides timely and accurate reports to management on obsolescence and their source.
  • Provides inventory planning recommendations in the strategic development of the sales and supply chain process.
  1. Trouble shooting and risk mitigation
  • Leads and supports with the resolution of short and medium-term supply issues and various supply chain projects.
  • Takes a proactive role in the decision-making process within supply-chain, providing recommendations to management on inventory planning and following actions to conclusion.
  • Assists and deputizes for the Demand & Inventory Manager as required.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years in a materials and supply planning role
  • 3+ years in an equivalent collaboration and leadership role with direct management experience.
  • Desirable but not necessary: Broad FMCG or consumer packaged goods commercial experience working with and across all company and supply chain functions
