Senior Director, Head of Finance - Biotech
The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and the Senior Leadership Team to drive financial strategy and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the finance team and implement effective financial controls and procedures.
- Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts with the Finance Manager.
- Review monthly management accounts and forecasts for executive distribution.
- Oversee project costings and report on variances to enable management action.
- Prepare and review statutory and tax reporting, including R&D tax credit claims.
- Approve payroll and manage pension schemes and employee benefit programs.
- Maintain share option database and ensure compliance with IFRS2.
- Assist in future cash raises and provide financial modelling for business development.
- Manage relationships with insurance brokers and banks, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
- Develop scalable finance processes and maintain policy documentation.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience working for a biotechnology company is a necessity.
- Strong communication skills, adaptable to various audiences.
- Problem-solving mindset with flexibility and adaptability.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
