A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an exceptional Pharmacy Technician to join our highly valued and skilled multidisciplinary Cancer Services team at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire in a new and exciting role as a band 6 Advanced Specialist Cancer Pharmacy Technician.
The ideal candidate will be ambitious, self-motivated and organised with excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills. You will be able to work effectively alone and as part of a team and will contribute to the process of service development and innovation by your own initiative and enthusiasm.
The successful post holder will have extensive hospital pharmacy experience with an enthusiasm for working within cancer services. Experience in this area is desirable but not essential as full training and support in all aspects of this role will be provided.

Main duties of the job
Successful candidates will work alongside an excellent and highly experienced cancer services team to -- Provide a ward-based medicines management pharmacy technician service to adult cancer wards.
- An opportunity to be accredited to clinically verify SACT prescriptions following a period of competency-based training and assessment.
- Support the provision of a SACT service to Pharmacist led out-patient adult oncology, haematology and paediatric clinics.
- Manage the enrolment, ordering and maintenance of Free of Charge/ Early Access to Medicines schemes.
- To support the Cancer Services team in the implementation, development and delivery of training programmes for pharmacy staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities- To support the Pharmacy Cancer Service by providing a clinical pharmacy service to cancer patients receiving SACT (systemic anticancer treatment) including accreditation to clinically verify SACT prescriptions in accordance with national standards.
- To provide a medicines management pharmacy technician service to adult oncology, haematology and paediatric cancer patients.
- To provide senior technician support to the Pharmacy Aseptic unit and provide line management duties in the absence of the Lead Technician Aseptic Services.
